Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American stage and screen actress, best known for her film roles on the film Ray Undercover Brother and on the popular television series The Mentalist. She holds a BA in African-American Studies and an MFA from the Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue is a film and theater actress in addition to being a producer. Her career began as a theater actress and then appeared in a number of television series as well as mainstream and independent films. The actress became famous for her role as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico, and also appeared on BET's acclaimed series The Book of Negroes. In both roles, she earned critical acclaim, as well as various nominations and distinctions including her first award, the Television Critics Choice Award for the Best Actress. In 1995, she appeared in her first performance on stage in The Tempest as Ariel. Her stage credits consist of Come and Gone Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis, a Broadway production by Joe Turner. Coming to her movie career she is most well-known for her appearances in films such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. Her role as a character in the drama series High Incident on ABC High Incident earned her praises.
